Fall has arrived, which means our Halloween Contest is just around the corner. Once again, the online platform will be transformed into a spooky place filled with monsters and creatures that will make everyone tremble with fear. The artists who bring them to life will be our own students, who will have access to a special Halloween section from October 19 through October 28, where they can create Halloween-themed artwork and enter our annual contest.
As usual, there will be two ways to participate in the Halloween Contest: by creating a drawing with Logo, one of the programming languages students learn at Codelearn’s introductory level, or by editing a Halloween-themed video with a maximum length of one minute. There will be different categories based on the students’ ages and the format they choose, and the winner of each category will receive a prize.
The Halloween Contest submission period will open on Monday, October 19, and close on Wednesday, October 28. The global winners will be announced the following week on Codelearn’s social media channels. During this period, all students and teachers will be able to access the Halloween section of the platform to vote for the drawings and videos submitted by the other participants.
Taking the popular vote into account, the Codelearn judging panel will then review all submissions and select the winners in each category. The judging criteria will be the effort and originality demonstrated in the submissions. The use of scripts or programs that automatically convert images into drawings will therefore be penalized.
For Logo-programmed drawings, students will compete in different categories based on their age, while the video category will have one single age group.
CATEGORIES
— Logo from 6 to 8 years
— Logo from 9 to 12 years
— Logo from 13 to 18 years
— Video (global)
Each student can send a maximum of two creations, a drawing made with Logo and a video.
PRIZES
The global winner of each category will receive a 50€ Amazon Card and 10.000 points.
Also, each Codelearn center will choose their own winners, who will receive 5.000 points.
Good luck!
